Orange County operates one of the better-run jail systems in California. Releases are generally faster than LA County, but you still need to know which facility you're dealing with.
Central Men's Jail (Santa Ana)
The main intake facility for adult males in OC. Connected to the Intake Release Center (IRC). Most new arrests start here. Release timing: 4–8 hours.
Intake Release Center (IRC, Santa Ana)
Where bail bonds are physically posted for the main county jail complex. Bond posting window is 24/7.
Theo Lacy Facility (Orange)
Sentenced and pretrial inmates. Bond accepted here but most pretrial releases happen at IRC after transfer.
James A. Musick Facility (Irvine)
Minimum-security facility, mostly sentenced inmates. Rarely involved in bail bond posting.
